uscis_work_permit_bwThe U.S. Immigration News is happy to announce that on April 1, 2014, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will begin accepting H-1B petitions subject to the fiscal year (FY) 2015 cap.  Cases will be considered accepted on the date that USCIS takes possession of a properly filed petition with the correct fee; not the date that the petition is postmarked.

The fiscal year cap (numerical limitation on H-1B petitions) for FY 2015 is 65,000.  Additionally, the first 20,000 H-1B petitions filed on behalf of individuals who have earned a U.S. master’s degree or higher are exempt from the H-1B cap.

you_will_be_interviewedAll immigrants on the pathway to permanent resident status and those currently holding the two year conditional green card must read this and get serious. To keep the conditional green card now is as important as obtaining it.

Attorney Famuyide Wins Stokes Interview To Close 2013

attorney_winsstokesjanThe notice was very short. Christmas was around the corner, the clients were expecting green card, but instead of permanent resident card, they received appointment letter to appear for Stokes interview. They were devastated and confused. Few days to the Stokes interview, Attorney Famuyide was retained to handle the matter, after meeting with the Attorney for prep couple of times; they passed the Stokes interview with flying colors. Another mission accomplished for Attorney Joseph Famuyide.

It appears that more and more immigrants are attending immigration interviews without legal representation because of upsurge in unemployment and poverty, but the unfortunate consequence of this anomaly is that more and more immigrants are being denied green cards through the Stokes interviews. At the end of the day, it is a case of penny wise pounds foolish because, it is now costing the immigrants more money to get lawyers for Stokes interview and appeal.
