Naturalization Based on Marriage; Another Green Card Interview

naturalization_based_on_marriageMany Immigrants in the United States today are filing application for naturalization multiple times before they can become U.S. citizens. This is due to lack of proper advice from the right source. Some immigrants instead of being approved at the naturalization interview to become US citizens end up losing their green cards at  the interview. At U.S. Immigration News, we will continue to report and leave it to our readers who are immigrants to decide what to do.

It must be noted by all immigrants who obtained permanent resident status through marriage that there are two processes through which they can become U.S citizens. The circumstances of their marriages and the level of documentation involved should help determine which of two to follow. A qualified immigration Attorney, if consulted could help make the decision on which to follow. It is risky and a waste of your hard earned money to file application for naturalization multiple times. You will be creating negative record for yourself which could make it difficult for you to achieve your goal of becoming a US citizen.

President Obama Grants Ebola Work Permit & TPS To Citizens of Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone

obama_grants_work_permitTo ease the suffering of affected immigrants and alleviate their pain, the United States has been magnanimous enough, after the outcry of stakeholders, to grant temporary protected status to citizens of Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, the three hard hit nations in Africa by the deadly Ebola virus.

Many thanks to the government of the United States for extending the same humanitarian immigration assistance extended to Haiti, during the earthquake, to Africa recognizing that Ebola is also a disaster of grave magnitude.

The Law Office of Joseph Famuyide is now calling on citizens of Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone in the United States who are not in any legal status to come forward to receive this benefit. The filing period commenced on November 21, 2014. All prospective applicants must apply before May 20, 2015.

More Immigrants Now Qualify For Deferred Action For Dreamers As President Obama Removes The Age Barrier

more_immigrants_qualifyOn November 20, 2014, President Obama through the use of Executive Order helped many young immigrants who were not qualified when the Deferred Action For Childhood Arrival (DACA) was announced on June 15, 2012. Many of these immigrants called “the Dreamers” were disqualified with the age ceiling and the June 15, 2007 arrival date. By a stroke of his pen, the President has modified the program to include many more immigrants by changing the arrival date from June 15, 2007 to January 1, 2010 and also by removing the age ceiling which was originally 31. Now any immigrant who entered the U.S. before the age of 16 and has lived in the United States since January 1, 2010 who is currently of any age can apply for DACA.

Please note that these youngsters, popularly called “the dreamers” were immigrants’ children brought to the United States by their parents at a tender age without their knowledge of the illegality of their mode of entry. Some of these dreamers were under the impression that they were citizens of the United States, until they got to High School. Some were told by their parents of their status while preparing to enter College. The sudden revelations of illegal status have shattered the hopes and aspirations of many of these dreamers.
